With over 35 years repair experience and further knowledge of engineering, your instrument is in safe hands with our workshop manager Paul.

Our Repair Services 

Verwood Instrument Repair offers a full range of repair services to suit every budget and need, from quick on-the-spot repairs, to full overhauls and customisation work 

On-the-spot repairs 

As our workshop is accessible to the public, we offer an on-the-spot repair service, so you can have issues solved promptly, while you wait. If further work is required, our repairers can quote for this.

Checkdown repairs

If you're unsure what the issue may be then a 'Checkdown' service will probably be what’s required. 

This includes 

  • Replacing missing or worn key corks or felts (tenons are priced separately)

  • Reseat pads 

  • Replace pads where required (pads individually priced)

  • Adjusting and regulating 

Full Service

A service includes a full strip down of the instrument, a full clean and replacing of oil and lubricants. resulting in a much quieter and smoother action. 

Instruments that are in regular use, we recommend having a full service at least every 2 years a service includes 

 

  • Dismantle 

  • Clean Body 

  • Polish Keywork 

  • Remove old oil from rods and screws

  • Replace key corks where necessary

  • Replace pads where necessary (pads priced separately)

  • Re-assemble

  • Regulate to a good playing order adjusting spring tension

  • Check tenon cork

  • Test 

Re-Pad

A Re-Pad includes everything a service does plus replacing all the pads, corks and felts.  

  • Dismantle 

  • Clean Body 

  • Polish Keywork 

  • Remove old oil from rods and screws

  • Replace key corks 

  • Replace pads

  • Re-assemble

  • Regulate to a good playing order adjusting spring tension

  • Replace tenon corks

  • Test

Verwood Instrument Repair is located on the Ebblake Industrial Estate in Verwood, 5 minutes off the A31. We have free and easy parking directly outside the workshop.  Our workshop is open between 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Saturday
